Classic Car Club Donates to Community College

Moses Lake Classic Car Club members have reached out again to the automotive students attending Big Bend Community College. For the third year in a row, the car club members have donated $1,500 to be used for purchasing performance tool kits for the students.

Each kit contains an auto link scan tool, light set, remote starter, wire tool, spark tester and fuel disconnect set. The students use the tool kits while enrolled in the program, but also get to keep the kits when the program is completed. Instructor Dick Wynder said, “They are performance tools the students need, but not all of them can afford.”

Previously the car club donated towards a scholarship, but it was determined that the tool kits provided a larger benefit, reaching all the students both during the program and after they are done.

Car club member Bob Kent said, “We support higher education and automotive students in higher education. And it’s local.”
