Openbay Shows Promising Growth

In late October 2013, Openbay launched its online service and mobile app for auto repair maintenance. Their service is set up to help consumers find a competitive quote for their auto repair needs.

The startup now is doing business in 40 states and has thousands of customers just weeks after its initial launch. Customers enter their repair needs via the website or mobile app and then they receive estimates from qualified service professionals in their area. Customers can then book their repair service through Openbay. Some of the professionals participating in the program will come directly to the customers’ home or office to perform the work.

Many consumers have stated that one of their primary concerns surrounding car repairs is the fear of overpaying or getting ripped off by paying for something they didn’t need. The Openbay business model is free for the customers while the company takes 10 percent from each transaction from the auto repair provider. Auto repair shops are willing to participate because of the advertising and direct customer contact they receive via Openbay.

Customers who own cars that are between 2 and 11 years old are the primary target for the Openbay business model.
